apache
read my post in various banks… it's only a portion of the obscene things that happened… u could make pretty good case for preditory lending since they were actively involved in the facilitation of breaking their own stipulations which state everything be used for eduction. For those of you with an RBC line of credit, I'm just wondering how it works not having an annual limit like some of the other banks. What I mean is, do you have to submit a request for X amount of dollars for the year, like CIBC requires or do you just have access to as much or as little as you need at any time? Thanks

mm88
I'm considering going with RBC too. Made an appointment for Monday, we'll see if I can negotiate a better visa/mastercard (will keep you guys posted on this). If not, I'm going for Scotia! mm88
why scotia? Heard good things from everyone about Scotia and my parents have their mortgage with Scotia as well for prime -1% (3 years).

zeroNINE
Scotia wants your Queen's transcript? That's surprising... Try a different branch? I was only asked for my offer of admission letter. Also look into whether your school offers busaries/scholarships.
holiday1001
this is RBC. the guy who's handling my file was surprised too. oh what does this have to do with scholarships?
zeroNINE
Well if you're looking for funding, might as well look into scholarships and bursaries while you're at it. I'm hoping my bursary will cover at least my living expenses, and that OSAP would give me like $15k so I would only have to pay $7k.
holiday1001
ya i'm gonna take a look for sure. i was hoping to have that money order set up for apartment-hunting tomorrow, but looks like I'll have to pay for a money order myself grr
Dr.Henderson
RBC needed a letter confirming my acceptance to Queen's (the email wasn't enough for them), but didn't need any transcripts. I emailed the office and they created a letter for me within a few hours, scanned a copy for me to send to the bank and mailed a paper copy out as well. First I've ever heard of them wanting transcripts:confused:
holiday1001
well I got the full 250k, cool stuff. only 1yr's infinite avion fee waved, so I'll opt for the signature rewards at no cost.

Angelia
Has anyone managed to score the visa infinite avion with annual fee waived? When I went to RBC they wouldn't even waive the first year. They said it was "non-negotiable".
mm88
When I went to RBC they wouldn't even waive the first year. They said it was "non-negotiable". My "specialist" did too! I read here that someone got the annual fee waived in the first year and another person who got all years waived on the Visa platinum! Are you in Toronto by any chance? If I can get the Infinite Visa from TD, I'm going to go there instead. Screw RBC, who needs the extra 50k when you're at a 3 year school?! HMPH! Rext
Just sent my RBC specialist an email letting them know about TD's offer and asking if they'd be willing to wave the fee on the Visa Infinite. If not, I'm cancelling my app with RBC and going to TD XD
holiday1001
TD wasn't very clear to me as to how much I would be getting, for a 4-yr they split 60-ish, 40-ish for the last three years, but since we're 3-year, the lady said we would only know how much I get when the application is cleared. also, each application dings your credit

Rext
Just got a reply from my RBC Specialist (Glenda Hedley). She said that the fee for the infinite is non-waiveable, only reducible to an annual fee of 81. I'm going in to see TD later today, if all else except this and the 250k vs. 200k is equal, i will most likely switch to TD
