grapz
Hi, I am asking this for a friend. She wanted to know how competitive it is to match into Family Medicine as a IMG. She will be graduating from a US medical school and she is also a permanent resident of Canada. Will she be slightly advantaged from UK/Ireland/Carribean/other foreign medical graduates because she trained in the US? What will make her competitive for CaRMs/ stand out? leviathan
She will be at a big advantage as she is considered a CMG and can apply for all CMG family med spots. She is not considered an IMG.
youngdad
I thought US grads are considered IMG. No?
ArchEnemy
I thought US grads are considered IMG. No? They are considered CMG as long as they graduate from LCME-accredited schools.
grapz
Thanks for the clarification. That definitely helps. I couldnt find where it said that CMGs are those who graduated from a LCME accredited school on the CaRMs website, does any one have a reference?
