RedLily
Did anyone apply to the MCDM-PhD program, and only get accepted to MDCM? (or does anyone know of this happening to someone?) I was looking over the 2015 admission stats, and I'm just wondering how people who apply to the MDCM-PhD program are considered by admissions. Is their MCDM portion of their application considered separately (pre and post interview) from the regular MCDM stream applicants (IP, OOP, NTP, etc.)? McGillMedAmbassadors
RedLily, Joint applicants are considered separately by each committee. It is entirely possible for joint applicants to be admitted to the MDCM program only. Both committees will consider applicants and rank them in isolation. Successful applicants would be ranked highly in the PhD pool and receive an offer for the MDCM program in their applicant category. Both programs also maintain waiting lists, independent from one another. I hope this helps answer your questions!
