Turk
Hey guys, I made a school list using MSAR, and was wondering if you guys thought it was fine. My MCAT was 31 and GPA 3.86, and my ECs were pretty diverse (Highley involed in music, and had a lot of hospital volunteering) Here is my list: Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Central Michigan University College of Medicine Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences Georgetown University School of Medicine Mayo Medical School Medical College of Wisconsin Michigan State University College of Human Medicine New York Medical College New York University School of Medicine Northwestern University The Feinberg School of Medicine Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine Saint Louis University School of Medicine Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University State University of New York Upstate Medical University The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University Tulane University School of Medicine University of Colorado School of Medicine University of Kentucky College of Medicine University of Louisville School of Medicine University of Maryland School of Medicine University of Minnesota Medical School University of Utah School of Medicine Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine Wayne State University School of Medicine Thanks! MD2B2019
Just my opinion, your LizzyM is less than 70, put you at lower tier schools, some schools are very long shot for you.

MD2B2019
If you have the time and money, you can apply all 28 schools, if I'm in your shoes, I'll remove Ivy schools - Brown, Dartmouth and alike - NYU, North Western, some AAU universities - Penn State, Case Western, ....keep 15 to 20 lower to middle schools. I also will check all new MD schools' websites, maybe there's a new MD school like Oakland out there but no Canadian apply to. I'll add MSU's DO program as backup, just in case all MD schools don't love me. This is just me, my opinion, your chance at lower tier are good, you will have 3 to 5 interviews for sure if your ECs, essays and references can support your applications. JohnGrisham
I would keep NYU and Case western. I know someone with lower stats than you that interviewed with case western.
workhardplayhard
When you were going through MSAR, did you look at the stats for the number of internationals interviewed or accepted? Some of the schools you have on your list I crossed out because they were not feasible. For example, schools like Michigan State (2 IIs out of ~450 apps) don't seem to accept too many internationals, while other schools on your list (Uni of Colorado) did not even seem to have any international applicants last year. JohnGrisham
I would also notice that for schools in Michigan, and I could be wrong about MSU, but they don't consider Canadians as international per-sae, but OOS applicants. So that could be why it shows 2/450 internationals interviewed, those are non-Canadian internationals. I anecdotally know 2 Canadians who interviewed with MSU MD program...and I find it hard to believe that I know both of the 2 Canadian applicants who interviewed as per your MSAR statistics.Someone correct me if i'm mistaken, and I will edit this post for future reference.
