Seeking accomodations for OOP interviewees at Dal

Hello,

I know that this question was already posed in another thread, but the answer was not that clear cut. What I was wondering is:

1) Are Dal med students organizing billeting options for the weekend of March 6th?

2) Could someone from Halifax suggest a few hotels that are close to the med school (or nicely located downtown, or both ...)?

If this info is indeed posted somewhere, then I appologize - I couldn't find it :\ .

THANKS!

Edited the subject to get rid of the all-capital letters. -Ian

<title>OOP Interview Conflicts</title>

<pagetext>Hello,

I just saw that the interview date for OOP applicants at Dal will be March 6. I have already been invited to an interview in Ontario for that date. Does anyone know how flexible Dalhousie is in changing their interview date?

Thanks,

Melissa

<title>upcoming health care symposium at Dal</title>

<pagetext>Hello, all,

World University Service of Canada (WUSC) is hosting a symposium at Dal on Feb 13 and 14th which is called "Canadians making a difference in health: regionally, nationally and internationally." At $25 with food/$10 no food, it's not expensive. I don't think the program is ready yet, but here's a quote from the organizers: "Come out and take part in a weekend of discussion, workshops and hear Dr. Stan Kutcher and Dr. Sonia Chehil of Dalhousie speak about their extraordinary work in medicine and mental health in middle income countries. Globalization and diversification are alive and well at Dalhousie Medical School. In the process, trainees are becoming better doctors, and delivering humanitarian service around the world—starting at home." Here's a link with a little more information.

WUSC Dal Health Care conference

I heard about it through the Nova Scotia The Gambia Association: a representative will talk about that group's work in peer education about AIDS in Africa and NS. To me, it also sounds like a great way to get up to speed about international health care issues for any upcoming interviews. Okay, thanks!
