How hard is it to get into ENT? Comparable to opthamology?

 

What is the lifestyle of an ORL attending? Is it a ROAD?

ENT (ear nose throat) is the word you are looking for if you want people to understand your french acronym

 

And yes, it is one of the more competitive specialty. Not as bad as ophtalmology though... But since I haven't applied there I can't say much more.

From what I can see, ENT attendings seem to have a pretty good life. There are emergencies that could require them to drive to the hospital in the middle of the night, but they are pretty rare. They definitely have a better lifestyle than general surgery, obsgyn and vascular/cardiac surgery attendings.

Yeah the job market for ENT is bad right now. I think they are on the Royal College list of specialties with market problems.
