Would Being A Cep Increase Chance Of Pt Application Success?

Recommended Posts

would having the credential of being a certified exercise physiologist (in Canada) be liked by pt schools? Would it give me a better chance at being invited for interview? Although I'm thinking of Queen's for pt and no interview with them.

I have heard that having certifications under the belt is always a good thing, but what about CEP specifically? And I would work as a CEP before pt school, not just for the sake of having a cert.

Any PT related experience is good experience!  Getting your certification and working as a CEP and will definitely help strengthen your resume when applying to schools.  When writing your personal essay for Queens, you can easily speak about your experiences as a CEP and how it will make you a good physiotherapist.  You could also look into getting certified as a kinesiologist if you haven't already, as that could also be useful.
