Hi,

I'm a student at U of O and i'm thinking of taking animal physiology I this year as a science elective - does anyone have experiences to share? Is it useful/hard/interesting? Does it help with the MCAT?

Thanks

Hi,

I took that course. It was pretty good but A Phys 2 was better. For my year, Katie Gilmour was teaching it and she was great. The first one has a lot on action potentials/muscles and a bit of endocrinology. The second deals with respiration and circulation.

For me, I don't expect I would have done as well on the MCAT without both classes (BS 12 PS 12 VR 11 = 35). I thought they were very relevant and more advanced than some of the stuff on the MCAT which made it a little easier. I have already recomended Animal Phys to several others and a few have told me that it helped them too. So I suggest you take it. But even more, I suggest you take Animal Phys 2.
