Rejection.

OOO English stream

wGPA: 3.88/3.89 with strong upward trend since it is a year I did about 9 years ago with a 3.51 gpa that is bringing me down (wGPA just below that supposed magic number).

e.c.- 2 pubs, MA complete, lived in Ottawa for 3 years (with some work and volunteer experience), hospital volunteering (350 hours) with leadership roles and many other things.

Current year: 2nd UG but one complete

Timestamp: 9:37 am

Note: email says I did meet academic criteria, but ECs not up to snuff.

wGPA: 3.88 on 4.0 OMSAS Scale

Current year: UG complete

ECs:

- 1 year of work experiences through co-op (engineering, 2 companies)

- 1 year of full-time research as undergrad, no publication (again through co-op)

UOttawa wGPA didn't help me too much because my lower year GPAs were higher. No regrets though, been trying my best to improve my application and feel confident that my application will only get better with time.

Maybe I didn't pick the right top 3? Or my experiences have more breadth than depth? Stings a bit cause I thought I had a good shot. Either way good luck to everyone else.

I am really disappointed considering I have a 4.0, I have been denied by almost everyone outside of alberta where I'm from. This cycle has really opened my eyes to geographic importance. Needless to say I wont be wasting my money next cycle if needed.
