Je détestais les présentations orales qui me stressaient tellement et je me considérais même introverti et je préférais travailler seul... maintenant je suis chirurgien qui travaille constamment en équipe J'ai découvert avec le temps que si tu as suffisament d'empathie et que tu aimes les gens, le reste va se faire tout seul. Autant avec les patients qu'avec l'équipe avec laquelle tu vas travailler. Ton équipe, soit dit en passant peut-être de grosseur très variable selon ta spécialité, alors pas de stress de ce côté non plus Continue à travailler fort au cégep. Une cote R de 34 c'est excellent

Hey, Are you in Canada? I'm PGY5 in a surgical speciality. The training is rough and it can be very hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you love what you do without a doubt, IMO it would be an error to switch for another field, especially if you are near the end. Personnaly, I can't fathom the tought of adding another year of residency to my life. I have close friends in family medicine and I can assure you that they are not particularly enjoying their worklife. The grass may appear greener now because it is as a resident but it won't be as staff. It may help you to speak with your provincial physician health program if you fell burned out. They are not mental health provider but it sure helps to speak with someone outside your inner circle. Don't give up, it is still worth it.

It depends on how strict they are with the essay rules or if they appears to be more liberal with it. In my opinon, if you feel you can, you should definitely speak about them in your letter.

OMG 1500 words, are they asking you for an autobiography or an interest letter?

Nothing prevents you from applying to both. Is there a new rule refreining people to apply to more than 1 speciality?

Hey, If you need to study to reduce your anxiety then your anxiety is likely pathologic. I strongly suggest that you work on that before medschool. In the long run, this is what will pay the most in term of both happiness and success.

When are we supposed to pay back the LOC at Scotia? I just spoke with my adviser and he said that the maximum he can do is 3 year post-graduate before having to pay back. So I would need to start paying back my LOC during my 4th year of residency ! Can someone back me on this?

En bout de ligne, ça change pas grand chose. Je présume que puisque tu pose ta question ici, tu veux aller en médecine? Un ''grand'' cégep n'a pas tellement d'importance pour l'application en médecine, il ne regarde que la cote R, peu importe le nom du cégep. En ce sens, choisis le programme le plus simple et le plus près de chez toi. Pour ce qui est de la langue, ça ne change rien que tu fasses ton cégep en anglais pour appliquer dans les universités anglophones. Mis à part McGill, les universités anglophones n'acceptent pas les étudiants du cégep pour médecine. Et on peut très bien appliquer à McGill en provenance d'un cégep francophone. Pour ma part toutefois, je te conseille plutôt de continuer ton sport si c'est qui te passionne. Pour l'application en médecine, et la vie en générale, c'est bien d'avoir un peu d'expérience de vie autre que les études et éventuellement, ça paraît bien en entrevue. Bonne réflexion

Je ne crois pas que les cours d'été dérangent quoi que ce soit. J'en ai suivi un l'été passé et je n'ai rien de reçu de l'udem ou de l'udes qui demandait de justifier mon cours, comme ça été le cas dernièrement pour ceux qui avaient fait plus de 4 sessions en horaire "normal".
