Vitals:

Scarborough/Toronto resident

University of Toronto Graduate (this June 8th)

Honours Double Major of Biology and Neurosciences

OMSAS UofT GPA: 3.89

MCAT: V8, P12, B12, WSO

I applied to UofT last year, but with a V5, I went nowhere but the bottom of the trash can. Did the MCAT again a second summer in a row to polish up that V mark. After applying to UofT for a second time I was accepted. UofT was my one and only interview.

No big research gigs for me, juss a variety of unique extracurricular and volunteer experiences from high school and onwards.

I can't wait to meet all you bright, balanced, and motivated 0T8ers.

Dreams do come true.

I too was accepted by Toronto. Recently graduated w/ H.BSc (Immunology) from UofT, first time med school applicant.

OMSAS GPA = 3.94, Toronto GPA = 3.98

MCAT: 11P 9V 11B WS:S

- Decent mix of extracurriculars and volunteer activities

- Several summers of research (no conferences, abstracts or papers)

- Thought I wrote a strong essay (which is all the more important considering how much of the interview is drawn from it!)

I will be joining the rest of the OT8'ers at UofT come fall!

Heyhey,

I have just completed the 3rd year of a Neuroscience Specialist programme at U of T. I have been accepted to U of T and I will be taking the offer because U of T was the only school kind enough to extend an interview invitation. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.92

MCAT: 8/11/12/R

Research: 2 years in the same lab

ECs: Mixed bag - I did what I enjoyed

Interview: Felt really good about it walking out

See you soon 0T8!

Accepted at UofT, and I'm over the moon!

:rollin

I'm a Scarborough resident, and just finished 3rd year undergrad at UofT (St. George). I am not deferring admission, so I will not receive a bachelor's degree. It's MD for me!

MCAT: V11, P13, B15, R

GPA (OMSAS): 3.98

This is my first time applying, and UofT is the only school I applied to.

Like getitonthefloor, I can't wait to meet all you guys in August!

Remember...this is just the beginning.

Hi all,

I just finished my 3rd year of undegrad in human bio at U of T.

GPA = 3.99 (OMSAS)

MCAT = P10 V08 B12 WSQ (let this be a lesson...don't let verbal wreck your application...I almost didn't apply to U of T b/c of it...the MCAT is just ONE part of a large application)

ECs = typical

I thought I wrote a very strong essay with an above avg interview.

I was rejected by Queens and Western pre-interview and Ottawa and Mac post-interview

I was accepted to U of T today, June 1st

My fingers are crossed for those still in the game

I'm an Ontario resident, just completed my third year of undergrad (life sciences major) at U of T. My GPA was 3.95 and my MCAT scores were:

Physical Sciences: (11)

Verbal: (10)

Biological Sciences: (13)

Written Sample: (Q)

I was accepted by U of T. I was also accepted at Queens, and Western. This is my first time applying to med school.

Of all the schools I applied to, I'm leaning towards U of T. I might defer a year to finish my undergrad.

Needless to say, I am dumbfoundedly happy! Good luck to everyone out there still waiting to hear from the schools.

Hello!

I'm an Ontario resident that just graduated from Biopharmaceutical Science at UofO.

GPA: 3.98/4.00

Physical Sciences: 12

Verbal: 10

Biological Sciences: 13

Written Sample: R

I was accepted by UofT. This is my first time applying to medical school and I am sooooooooooo happy to be in :) . UofT is a close second choice after Western, where I have been waitlisted. I will reject my Ottawa U acceptance and scholarship, and drop off the waitlist at Queen's. For now, I am provisionally accepting UofT. If Western doesn't work out, I'd LOVE to come to Toronto. I had an absolutely wonderful experience during my interview weekend. I saw the med show 'Daffodil' and I'd be thrilled to be part of it next year. Can't wait to meet the rest of the 2008 class :rollin

EDIT: After careful consideration, I realized that UofT is the place for me (I hate it when things rhyme :P ). I'll be firmly accepting this offer.

This is my second time applying to U of T. Last year I was rejected without an interview. This year I interviewed on the first interview weekend. U of T is my first choice, and I will be accepting the offer of admission. I was also accepted at Queen's and bad waitlisted at Ottawa (the only 3 schools to which I applied this year).

Got my letter yesterday - I got in!!!!! :D

I'm a second-year MSc student at McGill. I first applied to UofT 2 years ago and redid my MCAT last summer.

PS: 10

VR: 8

BS: 10

WS: Q

undergrad GPA: 3.92/4.3

my research experience started in final year of undergrad. Did some summer research at UofT (life sciences) 2 years ago 8o

Volunteer work pretty standard at a variety of hospitals with some extracurriculars during undergrad.

UofT was the only MCAT-school that interviewed me, and a sweet interview it was. I will be accepting my offer, possibly having to defer a year however because of thesis submission deadlines... wish me luck!

I'm an Ontario resident. Just graduated with a BSc in Co-op Biochemistry from the University of Waterloo.

GPA - OMSAS 3.84, if UT corrected it then 3.94

MCAT: V-7, PS-10, BS-11, WS-Q (second writing)

16 months of research but no publications. A few leadership roles and some decent extracurriculars but I find it hard to compare all that amongst my peers since I know a lot of great people.

This is my second time applying. I was rejected by all schools last year and this year UT was my only interview!

This was my first time applying. I'm turning it down for Western 'cause of it's proximity to home, smaller class and less-commuting. I have to say though: Toronto had by far the best Interview process.

Hey there interviewed,

Well done! :D You mentioned that you were waitlisted by UBC and McGill. Is UofT your first choice? Also, are you an Ontario applicant?

Cheers,

Hi there. I just found out that I've been accepted to U of T!!! I'm still in disbelief! :eek I was SO nervous in my interview, I was convinced that I had messed it up. I very likely will be accepting their offer.

So, now for my stats. I'm an Ontario resident (well, sort of, I've been in California as a US permanent resident for 3 years, but OMSAS didn't seem to care as I lived in ON until I moved to the U.S.). I have an H.B.Sc. from McMaster in Biochemistry and an M.A. in Anthropology from San Diego State University.

GPA (undergrad): 3.90 (maybe slightly higher with U of T weighting?)

GPA (grad): 4.0

MCAT: V12 P12 B13 WO

This is my second time applying to med school, but my first time applying to U of T. I will be turning down the University of Michigan for U of T. I'm waiting another week or so to see if UCSD takes me off of their waitlist before my decision is final. For those of you still waiting, DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE! If this is your first time applying, and you don't matriculate, getting a graduate degree can be a great thing to do while you reapply. It's one of the best things I've ever done, personally and academically.

This was my first time applying. I was sort of relieved to hear I'd been waitlisted, because it means I don't have to seriously consider alternatives for another 6 weeks or so :\

Guess I should add myself to here!

I'm a BC resident with a BSc (Biology) and MSc (Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) from UBC.

My undergrad GPA is ~ 3.2 :rolleyes

My graduate GPA is 4.0

My MCAT is 9,9,12,Q

I have one first author publication and lots of first author abstracts. Attended several big conferences. Apparently I am from a "well-known" lab, according to one of my interviewers (I was not aware that we are well known :eek )

This was my first time applying to meds

I was rejected pre-interview my UBC, Manitoba, and Ottawa,

but I was ACCEPTED by UofT! :rollin

I'm a Manitoba resident. I graduated from McGill Physiotherapy last year, and have been working in Toronto since last June.

GPA: 3.94/4.00

MCAT: P 11, V 11, B 11, W Q

EC: varsity sports, extensive healthcare/patient experience, variety of volunteer activities

Autobio: I think it was pretty good

Interview: Very relaxed

This was my first time applying. I was rejected by McMaster pre-interview. I was offered admission at McGill (which I accepted a couple of months ago), Calgary, Western and Toronto. I have just withdrew from McGill and thanked Calgary and Western for their interest.

Toronto was my first choice and I'm pretty excited to get started!
