Doing research with a professor after graduating

Yes you can. Your eligibility for certain research scholarships may be affected but if you're looking to volunteer or if the researcher is generous and will pay you themselves that's great. I know people that had little lab experience after graduating but were graciously taken in as some research assistant. Of course this is easier if you had previous contact with the researcher and they know you
