Ryanf1
Hey everyone! This is a question for MD/PhD candidates and grads. I'm looking at MD/PhD programs in Canada. Most of them require a letter of interest- but don't give too many guidelines on what to include and how long it should be. What's the typical length and scope of these letters? I'm in my fourth year undergrad, and haven't had a whole lot of research experience (just volunteering in a lab, no publications). Is it worth applying straight out of my undergrad or should I apply for a Master's? Are there certain areas of research that med schools prefer over others for MD/PhD? Thanks! Edict
I never applied but from what I gather they don't prefer one area over another but probably want to see research aptitude and potentially a letter from a previous research advisor who can advocate for you. rmorelan
Yeah the research topic seems to be quite open really! The scope from the ones I have seen cover the prior research (so you can demonstrate potential), and ideally what the upcoming topic would be (and why it matters).
