Ivy
Hi all, I completed by undergrad degree in Biomed at Waterloo this past April. To say I struggled is an understatement. This didn't happen because of lack of discipline in studying, but more so a multitude of mental health issues in my third and fourth year. This led to a series of W's, F's, and D's. I graduated on my fifth year to redo the courses I got F's in. Due to this, my overall GPA is sitting at a 3.2 and my last two years are 2.3. I am not eligible at any medical school with these stats. I was thinking of doing a second undergrad. My parents are not happy about this decision at all and think I should just go into the workforce, as there is a really small margin for error if I do a second one, but having gained my mental strength during my fifth year, I believe I can do it. Can anyone suggest easy GPA programs that has gotten anyone into med school or any advice if you have gone down this path?
bearded frog
What makes you think that you'll all of a sudden get 4.0s if your last two years are 2.3? A second undergrad can be a viable option but its a huge commitment in time and money and you shouldn't do it until you're sure you can get 4s. deeman101
If you're asking for an easy program that can get you a high GPA, you're not there yet mentally. You'll know you're there when you believe you'll get it done no matter the program, university, course load, etc. It's better to be ready to overcome any obstacle than it is to think you'll be lucky enough to dodge any setback. radd
