What does a job as a family medicine hospitalist look like in your province

Recommended Posts

Looking to work primarily as a hospitalist when I am done residency. I'm just wondering what the work looks like from province to province. What level of acuity/complexity do you deal with in a typical week of work (is it mostly PT/OT holds and pt's awaiting PCH beds or actually active problems with the opportunity to actually practice inpatient medicine)? What does a typical year for you look like including other various areas of practice (how many weeks of hospitalist in a year, emerg, clinic, etc)? Did you feel comfortable stepping into this role straight out of residency? What resources/speciality supports do you have at the hospitals you practice in?

Thanks
