Okay - I started filling out the online application form for UofC and I'm having a bit of trouble adding my courses to the individual terms that I created. I keep clicking on the positive sign icon but it takes me back to my "term" information - there is no place for me to enter my courses. Is anyone else having the same problem?

<pagetext>Like many others I will be applying to several schools, however Calgary is my first choice overall!!

 

I am hoping for some advice on how to strengthen my application. I will be writing the MCAT this August.

 

Some info about me:

I have a degree in nursing and 4 years of experience working in intensive care. My undergraduate and science gpa's are comparable around 3.8+ I have ongoing research experience with several publications (in nursing journals). My volunteer experience is lacking at present, but I have years of volunteer experience in the past.

 

I'm not asking you to use your crystal ball to tell me my chances or anything but I'd like to hear any tips you have for me - especially if there are any of you reading with a nursing background!!

 

Also, I have asked 2 well-known and respected surgeons for references. While I know this could help me, I am also worried that it could count against me if it appears I am "name-dropping". I work with them quite closely in my job, do you figure it's fine as long as they are personalized and make it clear they know me well??
