I've read a few times on this forum about 1st year having science courses. I've checked out the curriculum at a few med schools and haven't seen any chemistry, physics etc. type of courses. It looks like you jump right into the body systems right off the bat?

Am I out to lunch or should I brush up on my calculus?

Definitely won't need the calculus :)

What happens at Mac is that everything is based on a "health care problem." What that means is that as a tutorial group, you sit down and read through the problem and set up issues/objectives you want to cover. Those take into account any medicine related discipline that is relevant to the problem. For example, if in order to understand the issues within the problem you need to study a particular conept in biochemistry, genetics, anatomy, physiology, or embryology, you do that. But you don't study "a chapter" you study what you need to know in order to be able to solve/discuss the health care problem. Does that help? There are no set classes/courses at Mac.
