RuralDoc
Suppose an MD believes in certain types of holistic medicine. Are they legally allowed to speak to their patients about it? Take herbal remedies, for example. Or a non-conventional diet like the raw food diet, if they follow it themselves? Could they run into trouble with the CMPA or their provincial licensing body? quickdraw_mcgraw
If you do something or suggest something that is outside of the normal practice pattern of your peers, they, the CPSO, could take your license away if they could make an argument, however weak, that you were an unsafe doctor. That's the double edged sword of self regulation
