full course load?

okay, so here's my problem.

i got admission into university for the second semester and only took 6 credits that semester!! i had just moved to canada with my family and we had many financial problems so i couldnt afford to take many classes (student loans werent an option since we had only lived here for about 3 months by that time).

 

however, i only took 3 more years to complete my 4yr degree taking 15 credits each semester, because i made up for the missing credits during the summer sessions. therefore, i believe i have completed a 4 yr degree in 3.5 yrs!

will this situation significantly reduce my chances of acceptance at mcgill? so technically, ive only taken 1 semester of part time studies(since i didnt have admission during the 1st semester of my first yr), so would i have to explain it at all, coz i think i read something on the website about having to provide a letter explaining the situation, only if you've taken more than 1 semester of less than 15 credits?

I think if you explain what happened to the admissions committee, they won't mind. In fact they may even look positively upon the fact that you took on such a huge load after that, but don't quote me on it.

I think the point is that you have a full course-load in as many semesters as you can. Your first semester was done such because of extenuating circumstances, so if you add a letter explaining this with your application, I think you'll be fine.
