I'm really excited. I'm pretty sure the only reason I got the interview was because I sent them a short email last week, saying that I was still interested. It wasn't even an update letter, it was like three sentences. Anyway, so it might be a good idea to let the schools know that you still like the school and want an interview there. I'll get on those emails myself. Sounds a bit too easy though .. you probably had a stellar application to begin with, since you've already had about 5 interviews from other places

Does doing a masters help in applying to US schools in any way? My GPS is ok for US schools....apart from that is there any advantage of doing it? Not really. If your GPA is ok and you want to do medicine, then apply. If you want to do a masters, then do a masters.
Alastriss
It helps with whatever your MSc brings you. For example, you work with a prof and can get a strong LoR from them. You present at a conference, get a paper, all that can be used to strengthen your application. But if you don't have these things then your MSc won't help on its own. flamesfan
i have 3.94 with three interviews and no acceptances but i should have applied to wayne state and rosalind franklin to increase those chances
token
I still think GPA doesn't matter much beyond a certain threshold. Once you're past say 3.75 it's just fluff. It's not like the MCAT where every point closer to 45 improves your chances. With the masters thing, if you're also applying in Canada obviously it's a huge advantage to have an MA/MSc. But even at the top tiers where most people were a few years out from college, they spent those years doing research (and usually getting paid). Very few American applicants go the grad school route. ED527
Hey parachutes, I interviewed and was accepted at MSU. I liked the campus and facilities, however, I will be declining the acceptance in favor of WSU. I didn't like that the class is split up after 2 years for clinicals (or after 1 year if your going to the Grand Rapids campus). The clinical exposure and opportunities during the pre-clerkship years are a lot greater in Detroit than East Lansing. MSU focuses more on primary care (although according to match lists people match all over the country in many specialties), MSU is also P/F. From the acceptance thread it seems like you've been accepted to SUNY Upstate, RFU and WSU. If you are quite fond of any those schools, I would decline the interview offer. Hope this helps and if you any more questions, I'd be glad to answer them.
