myth00
What kind did you buy? How much did you buy it for? Where did you buy it?
A-Stark
I didn't buy one and I'm not sure why I would - the labs have their own equipment.
SunE
http://tasithoughts.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/hubble-telescope.jpg I got that one. Was a little pricey though. I suggest you get the same.
A-Stark
That one is clearly out of date. Isn't a newer one available?
imagine
Maybe you meant "stethoscope"?
myth00
you don't use a microscope? What if you get suspicious that the human cheek cells they are showing you don't really exist. Now woudn't it be useful to have a microscope to double check?

A-Stark
Oh, I have four different types of microscopes, and one electron one. It's kinda big though, so my dad says I have to keep it in the basement. Scanning or transmission?
Nonpremed
I know!! Med school prep could be nightmarish. Below is the type you need. It's the type required by most med schools. http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/imgaug02/royall.jpg You have to get one that's exactly of this type--shouldn't be different. Good luck in med school. Cheers.
thebouque
Little padawan. You need a telescope to SEE the S1, S2, and if you,re really lucky you might FEEL the S3, S4 and the divine murmurs. Get a Microscope so that in you're first histology class, when the teacher will biopsy himself (every respected histology teacher does that otherwise it means that your med school sucks), you will catch a fresh piece and you'll be able to appreciate the magnificent epithelia, connective Ts and hopefully for your teacher you will see no koilocytes. Actually, your LOC could buy one if you really wanted... unless you're just looking for an excuse to start stripping.
rmorelan
The original poster is not that different in thinking than my grandmother - she has been giving me medical equipment for the last year in some bizarre attempt to help with my attempt to get into medical school Got a microscope for Christmas, but alas it is not the electron kind
