miles.away
I am finishing high school in the next month and am registering for courses at the University of Calgary next week. I would like to know what courses would be helpful to gain admission and prepare for dental school? Other than the required courses (bio, physics, chem, biochem, stats and english.) I was thinking of maybe taking the following as options: business, math, finance, psychology and some others. Any other courses that would be helpful? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks! marcusnasland
take what you enjoy and what you think you can get the highest gpa in... adcoms will only look at gpa they generally dont care as long as you take the pre reqs
Mare
^^ Agreed! Take your pre-reqs, and then take courses you're interested in (you'll be more likely to get higher grades if you like what you're studying!). Work hard - it's worth it! Best of luck! bone
some dental schools want a physiology course. I'd recommend taking that, not to mention it helped me in dental school. Also anatomy is not a pre req, but I found it gave me a bit of an advantage in dental school compared to those who did not take it in undergrad. Best of luck.
