alternate list email

Hey guys,

 

I just got a letter in the mail today saying that I got accepted off the alternate list. However, I did not get any email...I was under the impression that U of A emails first and then you recieve the mail package...however i have not recieved anything by email ( I checked my U of A email) but did recieve the admission offer package in the mail...anyone else heard of this thing happening?
