Microbiodude
I believe Western has a policy where 60% of your courses must correspond to your grade in order for that year to count towards your 2 best years.

thatonekid
Toronto also wants 60% at your year level or above, it's in the OMSAS guide. However, they also take exceptions, which are outlined on their website.
JennyM
So if I'm going into second year, I shouldn't have four 100 level courses? Does anyone know what medschools really care about course level? Thanks

Thanks As stated above Western and Toronto in particular In a standard second year you take ten 0.5 courses. Six of those should be second year or higher, which leaves four courses that could be first year ones. Pretty much any standard university program tends to follow the 60% by default anyway. magiman
It says on the OMSAS PDF that one year "Three full or equivalent senior courses (second year and above)". I emailed UWO and in my 4th year i had 2.5 full year credits (4th year course) and 1.5 full year credits (3rd year course) and they said its acceptable. I am not sure about UoT though. rmorelan
What if my program requires me to take 8 2nd year courses in 3rd year? (It's a joint program with Centennial..) special case - contact admissions to determine if it acceptable. Do it as soon as possible to avoid problems.
