Alternatives to ROMP

Once again I turn to the trusty medical students of this forum for help.

 

Is anyone aware of other programs which are similar to Ontario's ROMP (Rural Ontario Medical Program)? This is a program which sets you up with the opportunity to live in a rural community for several weeks while taking part in a clinical observership. See: http://www.romponline.com/

 

I am curious if there are similar opportunities available to 2nd year medical students in say Alberta or BC etc. I am assuming there might be similar programs set up to address the recruitment needs of rural communities within the other provinces.

 

Any info would be terrific!

Check out http://www.rpap.ab.ca for Alberta. They give preference to Alberta students, though.

I think your website is missing ERMEP http://www.ermep.com/ and SWOMEN http://www.swomen.ca/ which are the other two Ontario rural placement programs as they split Ontario into four regions: NOSM, ROMP, ERMEP, and SWOMEN.
