Hematology

Hey everyone,

I just started my 2nd year of med school and am interested in learning more about hematology.

I have limited experience working with a hematologist, but have liked it thus far. I was wondering if anyone can provide any info on the specialty. I specifically like that you can see a variety of problems and do a variety of tasks (heme onc, general heme, transplant, procedures like bone marrow biopsies, reading slides, etc).

Can anyone comment on the job market in Canada currently? Are there jobs out there for new grads? Is a work-life balance possible? What is the pay like? Anything else people can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks
