Unsure where to apply with a course-based masters (MPH)

Recommended Posts

I hope this hasn't been addressed elsewhere or I'll feel like a tool starting a new thread but...

2011-12 will be my third cycle (attempt) applying to med schools (I've been interviewed at U of C for the past 2 years, during 4th and 5th years of undergrad, and sadly no dice). I'm about to start an MPH at Waterloo, but am not sure which med schools it would make sense to apply to as a grad student in a course based program (next year, and the year after when I actually have my MPH).

For reference, stats = cGPA 3.5, MCAT 32Q, lots of ECs.

I would really appreciate any and all input! Thank you!

Once you're in grad school, my understanding is that publications are more important, regardless research or course-based.

From what I remember, UofT is the only school that has a different approach for grad applicants. For 2010 matriculation, Queen's waived their GPA cutoff for grad applicants. I think Queen's overhauled their process since then though.

Do you know what your GPA is in OMSAS? Best two years? Most recent two years?
