Fun test! I'm surprised about the double oncology at the very top but I guess I'm glad it's mostly internal medicine specialties up there.

My choices right now are ortho, gen surgery, neurosurgery pretty much.. Gen and neuro are in the top 10, ortho way back in 17. No way I'd do urology or obgyn or plastics! At least I guess it got family med right.. last one at the bottom.

Not surprised about Family practice...answering questions like being neutral about being involved in patients and their families' lives or listening to them probably cinches that *blush*

Happy about thoracic surgery and neurosurg though :)

Really? I'd would have thought it'd be more along the lines of what occupational therapists do, with ADL rehab and such.

I had 5 specialties tied for #1... hmph.

Im the same as you with respect to family but oddly, while peds is low on my list i actually enjoy kids and helping them problem is you have to deal with their parents too and that's where i'd likely fail lol

I am not sure I put much stock in this 'test'...I specifically said that I do not like tasks requiring manual dexterity and yet 3 or 4 surgical specialities showed up in my top 10 :/

I tried taking the test, but I found that many of the questions were repeated. Was that just me?

I figured it would give me a very strange result so I did not finish it.

Also, like others have mentioned, the scores are so close to one another.

It's odd. You'd think after responding to 130 questions there would be more variation.

Oh well. Cynical me.

But, just for fun, here are my three preferences at this very early stage:

Neurology (memory and dementia, specifically)

Emergency medicine

Paedeatrics

I took other aptitude tests prior to this and they all basically said that paedeatrics would suit me the most. And just about everyone I have met has told me either emergency med or paedeatrics would fit my personality the most.

Either way, each of those three really appeal to me at this stage.

I think that they repeat the questions to evaluate consistency?

Because especially on a long test, people sometimes start randomly answering.

Psychiatry came up high for me, which is what I want to do. Some of the others, not so much.

Maybe I should take it, then. Because I thought it might be an issue with my computer.
