moving away for residency

Hey,

I'll be starting med 2 come this school year and I know it's still early for me to be thinking about residency, but just out of curiosity does anyone know how many graduates usually move out of province/go to a different school for residency? Would it be most, some, or few? What are the benefits/cons of moving away?

 

I know at Western about 40% of the graduates do their residency here, so the bulk of the class is off to somewhere else.
