I agree with your aproach, the name of the game is to be productive and efficient, and this means knowing which classes to skip, something I learned in UG. I still go to every class, in hope that new information useful for the exam might come up. But I always bring something else to do if that's not the case... However, I have a 3-hour english class from 6:30-9:30pm (ugh!) and at times it can get pretty tedious. Then I like to write myself notes in another language. I speak some Spanish and an extremely small amount of Swahili, so I'll write about how bored I am in class.
