preparing for residency

Hi

I am curious to know more about preparing for residency. Is it important in medical school to still get involved in extra-curricular activities? Should one try to do several things or just choose 1 activity (i.e. how is this on the CARMS app ...is it like medical school where you list 48 activities?). Or would you suggest that at that level it is more useful to get invovled with research, etc.?

Sorry for the ignorance of the system, any information would be helpful.

Thank you

Hi there,

If you look at the program descriptions within the CaRMS website you'll see that a number of programs state that they value extra-curricular interests or activities in their applicants.

Cheers,

Kirsteen
