bearpuppy
Hi all, I am Canadian and applying to both US and Canadian Medical Schools this application year. Essentially, I would like to know whether there is communication about acceptances between the two systems. Specifically, I envision a possible scenario of getting an acceptance from a US school (as they do these generally earlier than Canada) prior to hearing back from Canadian schools. Does anyone know if one would be able to hold such acceptances until you heard from Canada? Anyone ever been in a similar scenario? Thanks,
thatonekid
The US and Canada do not communicate acceptances. You can hold a spot in the US and wait to hear back from Canadian schools. I remember meeting people during various Canadian interviews who already knew they had been accepted to US schools. The only thing to consider is that you may have to pay an acceptance deposit for the US school while waiting on Canada, which would cost a bit of money.
