Shadowing a PA

Recommended Posts

You need to have liability insurance from a 3rd party or through your co-op in school to do so. It's not very possible from what I have understood, same issues with shadowing doctors. Might be better to ask the schools themselves that you want to apply to if they know of any shadowing opportunities or if it is possible for an average person.

If you can find a PA in a private practice that would be your best bet. Even 15 years ago when I had written permission from the Chief of Staff to shadow a physician friend of mine at a community hospital in the GTA my shadowing experience ended early for this type of reason. That said, it is not impossible.
