Hi,

 

Is it possible to do your medical studies in french and then to do your residency at an english hospital/univeristy?

On the ward I am working this rotation, the 2 residents are from UdeM. They are very fluent and completely functional in English.

You'd have to do your medical studies in any of the 3 french university (Laval, Sherbrooke or Montreal), then get accepted for a residency in McGill. As simple as that.

Don't forget that the CaRMS is pan-canadian, so you can apply to any university from UBC to Memorial. You are obviously not limited to McGill if you're looking from an english speaking site for residency.

I was assuming OP wanted to stay in the same province.
