HousesBestCane
Hi, I am completing an undergrad in biomed at McGill. Under refusal to Med next year I plan on starting a 2nd UG in a more competitive program, but would like to keep applying into med. What is the policy for UG applicants at this institution? Is it any different for applicants in their second UG? Which years / grades are taken into account in such application? If you can answer any of these questions I'd be very thankful. Have a good day. z12345
There is no official 2nd undergrad policy (unlike McGill). All undergraduate courses will be taken into account. If you are close to the cutoff for an interview, high performance in additional coursework in a program with a high IFG would be helpful. Unfortunately, if you are far from the cutoff, you can never really escape your past. All french med schools in Quebec have a similar philosophy with regards to 2nd undergrad degrees. If you want to pursue medicine in French via the 2nd undergrad route, your best bet would be uOttawa.
SunAndMoon
There's a biomed degree at McGill? And yeah, no second ug policy at any of the french schools. Kind of unfair but it is what it is!
dior12
whats your gpa? as far as i know those with degrees from english universities tend to have a higher calculated cote r because they use the mean of the university and not the degree itself, meaning it does not matter what major you do if you did it at an english university.
