jmes.91
I know it's a little bit early to be thinking about this, but I'm just trying to fill the time between now and May 10th! Does anyone at Mac have experience playing varsity sports? I have an opportunity to join a Mac team if I am lucky enough to be accepted in the program @ Hamilton. Practices are 3 hours a week on Wednesday and on Saturday/Sunday most weekends from August to October. What do any current students think about this schedule? I would appreciate any insight on the scheduling and any thoughts you might have. Thanks
thethirdlaw
If a med student at McGill can play in the NFL, I'm sure with some solid planning you'll be a-okay.
Arztin
If a med student at McGill can play in the NFL, I'm sure with some solid planning you'll be a-okay. yeah but that guy is an exception Even when he played for the Redmen, I believe he couldn't attend all the practices. A few classmates are in varsity teams, but it's definitely hard. If you can manage your time well, I guess it's possible, but it's not easy for sure. I don't really follow the NFL, but I'm gonna have to start cheering for the Chiefs.

Edict
Its doable at Mac for sure, our actual mandatory class time is actually only about 9 hours a week. I know someone who was captain of a varsity team at Mac while in med.
johnmccrae
I also just googled this guy as well. Impressive! Definitely going to follow his career.
blackowl
I know one person who did varsity badminton and another who did the equivalent of varsity ultimate frisbee... Doable for sure. First year is generally flexible enough.
amichel
Also, Joannie Rochette is about to start med1 at McGill. Really? Good for her. Seems like a strong lady, I'm sure she'll do great. Rumour is we're getting an Olympic women's hockey player at Calgary?
