Sincerity is of utmost importance. I would be as specific as possible when writing - DON"T BE VAGUE!!! that is the best advice I can give. Vague answers are not memorable, and you definitely want to be memorable! Stay away from "Mac-isms" and just be yourself. The markers can smell a phony a mile away. Your best bet is to write the essays such that your personality shines through. If you write too formally the markers don't get a good idea of who you really are... and that's a death knoll...
