master122
I just graduated from UWO with a 3.82 GPA overall. Am I competitive for McMaster, CARS/CASPER aside? Contemplating summer school. Thanks
PD23
You’re at about the average GPA of those who were accepted for the class of 2020. However, I would suggest aiming for a 128+ in CARS and practicing for CASPer. I had a 3.90 GPA, 127 CARS and was rejected pre interview so perhaps my CARS and CASPer held me back. I got an interview at Ottawa though so CASPer couldn’t have gone that terribly Source: http://mdprogram.mcmaster.ca/docs/default-source/admissions/classof2020.pdf?sfvrsn=2 classof2020.pdf
master122
Thanks, i've got loads of time this summer. I can probably get my GPA up to 3.84 if I enroll in a few courses. I'll still have plenty of time to study for the MCAT. What do you think? should I bother

What do you think? should I bother To be honest, it might not be worth the 0.02, school is expensive and I personally don't think it would make much difference. m_jacob_45
I wouldn't bother with the summer courses, personally, since the difference would be tiny. Work on having a good CARS score. (I got interviewed with a 3.73 gpa and 129, so you should be ok with a 128 if CASPer goes well).
PD23
Agreed. The CASPer and CARS score each make up a third of your overall application score. That would give you greater bang for your buck
Edict
I find that CARS and CASPer scale way better. If you put the time that you spent on coursework to improve your GPA instead on CARS and CASPer you would be much more likely to get in.
Crash Bandit
Definitely iterate the above advice re: CARS and CASPer!
