yeticrab
Does anyone have any experience or advice for the residency CASPer? Is it substantially different from the med school version? I wasn't even aware that it was a requirement for certain programs until recently and the date is coming up fast! Any help would be appreciated.
1D7
I don't know anyone who had CASPer hold them back from a residency interview (this is coming from someone who went to a school that did not require it). I don't think it is exactly the same as the one used for medical school admissions in that I'm pretty sure they use different scenarios, but the overall structure and 'strategy' is very similar. If you can type fast (i.e. being born in the late 80s/early 90s or later) and know some how to articulate the way you analyze situations and ethical dilemmas you're probably set. ygella
The test is pretty much the same as the one used for med school. I.E. same format. The scenarios might be a little different though. I'd say given the CaRMS climate these days it better to have it and apply to as many programs that you're willing to go to than to limit yourself. Cheers! bearded frog
Its the same structure, but the questions might be a little different. More medicine specific scenarios vs generic ones if I recall.
