Hopefully PARO can use the results of this arbitration in their negotiation.

"Even though [the bill 124 being unconstitutional] ruling is under appeal, the nurses were able to go back to the arbitrator to secure additional wages for 2020-2022 under the previous contract, since the contracts were subject to reopening if Bill 124 was repealed or declared invalid. They were awarded additional wage increases of 0.75 per cent, one per cent, and two per cent for each of the three years, respectively." - I understand PARO is attempting to negotiate back pay for 2020-2022 under this finding re: impact of bill 124 also.

Would be excellent if PARO could negotiate similar terms. This sets a good precedent, unfortunately historically our residents and physicians associations have been much weaker negotiaters than nursing unions. I'd hope the OMA takes a strong stance when they start discussing the next PSA, especially when it comes to family physician remuneration.
