soruke123
Can anyone provide insight on choosing between Calgary and McMaster for med school? In terms of program, matching for residency after, heaviness of schedule, etc? Any insights would be hugely appreciated! My friends and family are all closer to Mac but I think Calgary is a way more beautiful place to live.
Bambi
The only insight I can share is that family and friends are far more important for your emotional and mental health than beautiful scenery in the area! soruke123, targaryen and warthog
Edict
From what i've heard Mac has a better system than Calgary in terms of electives, timing etc. City does matter though, and it does depend on what you want. If you are thinking family medicine, your electives are less important, but if you are hoping for a competitive specialty, you may need to factor that in a bit more. Additionally, I would also consider where you want to be for residency etc. Small practical things may mean its slightly easier for you and more likely you will match and stay in the same province for residency. warthog, FeelingTheBern, soruke123 and 1 other
