They only stated they sent out offers to the top 100 applicants and then the other 100 were by lottery. Instead of over offering this year they could have simply made the wait list larger. They never said they were only offering 200 initially. They said that the 450 lottery will be randomized to offer, waitlist, reject but they never said how big each group is. As it turns out, the reject group is small-to-possiblynone and the waitlist group is huge. It wouldnt surprise me to find out they made 250 offers initially for 200 seats as they know at least 50 would not accept. Read the past threads if you want hope of ppl making it off the waitlist.
