Barney Stinson
I will be entering Med School soon and I am in need of a new laptop. I've narrowed my options down to the 2020 MBA but I am unsure which one of the ones listed below would work the best and last the longest. What are your thoughts? - Macbook Air Early 2020 - Intel i7, 16 GB ram, 528 GB Storage (on sale for 1500) - Macbook Air Late 2020 - M1, 8 GB ram, 256 GB Storage (Base model) - Macbook Air Late 2020 - M1, 16 GB ram, 256 GB Storage (200 dollars more that the base model) Thanks!! seewhathappens
Definitely get an M1 model, and I'd suggest springing for the extra RAM. Will make it last a bit longer down the line, and you can't add any once its purchased. Should DEFINITELY NOT get an intel model though. They're phasing that out, and you don't wanna be caught unsupported. Barney Stinson
inhaledinsult
echoing previous response: M1 100%. I have the 8GB ram but I also agree that if you want to keep your laptop for longer, the extra RAM will definitely future proof it. Don't go for Intel!! Make sure to get the edu discount from Apple too, or check out their refurbished (sometimes they're in stock!) Barney Stinson
