I got accepted at U of T and Western. No idea which one I am going to pick. There are pros and cons to each :S

Time to seriously start thinking :S

Well... it really depends on what your goals are.... personally, I hope to one day specialize in paediatric dentistry and I know U of T offers all of the various dental specialties for its grad program unlike Western. However this doesn't mean that if you go to Western you can't apply to U of T for grad programs, I just think it’s more probable that you will make connections if you study your undergrad at U of T, do summer research, etc to work your way towards a specialty… lol… I don’t know how accurate my logic is but this is one reason why I was so devastated when I got rejected by U of T

I've decided that I am going to go to U of T. I'll be rejecting Western! I am a bit conflicted because I know that Western is the better clinical school, but Toronto will be a better overall living experience over the next four years. WOW what an insane feeling to drop Western! That opens up a waitlist spot for some other lucky person!

Cheers

Rick.

Dunno, it would be logical for Western to wait until the 9th so they can start withdrawing offers from those who didn't return the intent form. Do they only waitlist in province students? Oh, to those who have accepted the offer from Western, do you have a green circle in place of the checkmark when you go to the Student page?

Ok...so this is what it says on the UWO website:

"As of the admissions cycle which will select the Class of 2011 (entering in September 2007), Schulich Dentistry will be using the Academic Average in its final selection process. This score is based on the scores achieved in the Reading Comprehension, Biology and Chemistry sections of the test. One must meet competitive levels in the Reading Comprehension sectional score in combination with achieving competitive academic grades in order to be invited to an interview. This minimum score on the DAT is subject to change depending on the quality of the applicant pool."

So does that mean that they ONLY look at AA for the 15% of the application?
