Guest Ian Wong
I'm just starting a new thread here for tkerr. He wrote: ---- I'm a medical student in Dallas, originally from Canada. I may want to come back when I'm done school here, and I'd like to make sure that I jump through all the hoops to make that an option. Tom Kerr ---- Tom, the Canadian equivalent is the LMCC board exam. It is written at the end of fourth year, and encompasses both basic science, and clinical medicine into one big exam. It's the Canadian equivalent of the USMLE 1 and 2 combined into a single exam. Canadian med students do not write any board exams after second year medicine. You may want to look into the Canadian Residency Matching service (CaRMS), which is the Canadian equivalent to the NRMP. The "Match" is conducted through: www.carms.ca You should look into your eligibility as to applying for Canadian residency programs; I don't know whether you face any problems graduating from a US medical school even though you are from here originally.
