AKY
Probably to stop people from these forums calling them every day.
galleryON
They have to send out ~3000(?) letters... It probably takes them a few days to seal all the envelops. Maybe the person replied to you is responsible for mails to be sent out in days. @@ same..and why did admissions lie to me then
Caliver
Lol true. my mail (about the possible interview dates) didn't come through last time. Ugh, i hate snail mails

Cheburashka
Just got an invite in the mail!!! March 24th interview! So excited! Congrats and good luck! I bet everyone else here just ran to check their mail
Cass
I don't want to jinx anything but what if the later they send out the letters means that the less likely we'll get an interview ?
holiday1001
the pre-meds have been unleashed upon Canada Post!!
AKY
Why don't we wait until the end of the day to determine that.. Someone already mentioned that they heard someone else got their rejection late yesterday by mail, so things are a bit unclear at this point... dassy
Well someone posted earlier that their friend got a rejection letter. So I think they sent them all out at once. Bahh I left home before the mail came today and I accidentally left my phone at home so I can't even call and ask!!!
ATturnMD
It's doesn't seem like very many have been received yet so lets not start jumping to conclusions. I wouldn't be surprised if invites were sent together and regrets were sent together because that's how the lists would be compiled, but I doubt there'd be a huge difference in when they were mailed. It's the delivery that's going to make the torture last for weeks for some. If a lot had been received then there would be a lot more activity with stats and a lot less speculation. Speculation's all we've got at this point unless your the lucky few who gave you mail carrier an extra special Christmas present.
PremedGuy1
I do not understand why they won't send a simple email to put us out of our misery.
Der Kaiser
My lazy mailman skips days and comes in at 4 pm...this is going to be a long wait. Congrats on the invite(s). I'm pretty sure I had a mailman like that in Ottawa. You notice these things when you are obsessively checking the mail for letters from med schools. dassy
I think it's a mix between long mail times and also that most of us aren't around to check our mail right now. I am so happy that I have a great mail men, sweet old guy who's done our route since I was a kid.
muhgel
i called the office today. here's what I was told: -invites: email + mail (invite package) -regrets: email either way, if not heard by Friday, should contact admission office very helpful people i must say

bronte99
Only sending letters wouldn't really make sense, considering they've done emails in the past. Why change now?
Davjw
I'm a bit skeptical about that reject. I feel as though if they had sent rejects yesterday (or perhaps even the day before, for that person to have gotten the rejection letter yesterday), then there would have been at least one other person who checks these boards who received a rejection yesterday or today. I mean, by 1 day after sending, Hamilton + GTA should have at least received the mail.
Daniel
I'll just wait for the email then. Hopefully thats out by tomorrow.
Daniel
Well, I am very confused. So it's snail mail first followed by an email? Snail mail for invites only. I'm hoping the emails come out soon, post office is too far away.

KMMD
Congratulations - I am now regretting putting my home address as my mailing address. MrsSnrub
Haha it's kind of anti-climactic, you can see "we are pleased to....interview" through the little clear window on the envelope
