Sarvish
Would they actually make it pink? I mean I'd still wear it everywhere but other colours might have been a bit better.
ArchEnemy
Pretty sure the poll is still open. Vote turquoise! Pretty sure the colour has already been decided (unknown if it will actually be pink). They need to send it off for manufacturing.
jfdes
Wow, who votes on this? Is it just based on likes?

jfdes
why not? I mean they have used a lot of really bright colours before. Pink is a very...polarizing colour though
Aetherus
Pink is a very...polarizing colour though Agreed, pink is not generally considered a gender neutral color. Although orange is very bright, at least it's pretty much gender neutral.
ikillreid
Perhaps it's about time we stopped gender stereotyping the colour anyway Pink would be fun.
amichel
Perhaps it's about time we stopped gender stereotyping the colour anyway Pink would be fun. I had that thought too. Lots of people won't go for it though.
Aetherus
I agree that colours shouldn't be gendertyped...however currently in society, they are... They should just go with a color that most people will be happy. I actually thought the orange backpacks were nice.
Leon
I believe they've stood by the votes in the past. There was a lot of crying when the orange bags were released but it's grown on everyone by now. I imagine the process will be the same with the pink though it might take much longer to get used to them....
Sarvish
I like the orange ones actually. Pink might just look really weird to people who don't know what the backpacks are for.
ikillreid
They should just go with a color that most people will be happy. I feel like this is kind of a defeatist attitude. What good is it to please the majority if that decision is made for reasons that we agree are counterproductive to society? Granted, we're talking about backpack colour. But then, by the same token, it should be even easier to go against the norm on an issue as trivial as colour. ALTHOUGH, I concede that there are probably many who just legitimately don't like the colour pink, and it doesn't sound like it was a fair vote. I'm all for pink though; I like the idea of something unique.
Aetherus
Well I am pretty sure that the colour of a backpack makes very little difference to society as a whole. It seems to me that currently its just retribution of one class to another.... Is the vote purely on Facebook?
ikillreid
Of course. I've been trying to avoid overgeneralizing your statement. I just can't help but consider the implication on real issues, like a minority's rights. I would hope we wouldn't be so resistant to change then just because a certain belief is currently held by the majority. I guess what I mean is that I don't think the colour makes a difference to society, but that the thinking style could. And if we are so up-in-arms about this kind of trivial issue, that doesn't bode well for the important ones lol.
fugacity
The bottom line is that it is a free backpack. There is only so much you can complain about free stuff.

PLASTICSX
I think the problem with pink (bright pink) is that it might seem a little "flashy", especially when students are inside of hospitals for their clerkships...
