Hey! I was wondering if anyone from previous years applications can tell me what exact dates in June that admissions offers were posted for the University of Manitoba DMD program. I know last year for example was the 20th. I have anxiety and having a good estimate so I can count down would be super duper.

Hello, I am starting my PharmD program in September 2021 while also reapplying for medical school this year. I am confused if whether or not I would include this in my application? On page 22 of the application guide it says "Courses from September 2021 to April 2022: Enter the courses you plan to take and leave the “Completed” checkbox unchecked. You can take different courses later without notifying us, with two exceptions: • If you change your mind about which English course you will take, you must message us to tell us the new course name, number, and institution. • If you are completing 90 credits and change your courses after you apply, please message us with your new courses. If your 2020/2021 courses are at a new institution (an institution you have not started attending yet, so you can’t submit a transcript), please message us so we can change the transcript status for this institution to “Not Yet Required.” Does anyone have experience with starting a new degree while applying, and if the new degree was included? Thank you!

mcat Summer Courses and Studying for the MCAT
nerdy_unicorn posted a topic in General Premed Discussions
Hey guys I’m really confused as to what I should do and can really use some advice. I originally wrote my MCAT last summer and I didn’t do as good as I wanted to (Canadian). If I don’t get accepted to med school this year I should retake the MCAT this summer. I also want to expand my options and apply to USA schools this summer. However the problem is I didn’t take physics 1 (only did physics 2) and it is a prerequisite for basically all the schools. So would it be doable to study for the Mcat while also taking physics 1 condensed? Physics 1 would be running from May 1st to June 15th and I will retake the Mcat like early august or end of July. Basically my four options are: rush the Mcat retake prep so I can take the Mcat before summer school physics starts. I have all my notes from the first time I took, I just need to work on cars and review my notes again but I feel like I don’t remember anything lol. just take physics 1 in the summer (lectures are Mon/Wed and virtual (covid) labs Wed) while also studying for the MCAT screw applying to American med schools and just leave physics and study for the Mcat full time this summer for Canadian schools only. Taking physics in the fall isn’t an option for me because I’m starting my one year masters program in the fall. Also most Canadians don’t get into USA schools so is it even worth it? take the MCAT and just apply to USA med schools without the physics prerequisite and if I get into a school I can try to take the one physics course the summer prior to matriculation. If anyone has experience taking a class while also Mcat studying let me know thank you! -
Hi, I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but I had a question about American Med School Prereqs. I have tried getting in to med school in Canada a couple of times now, but now I want to broaden my chances and try to apply to American Med schools for the upcoming application cycle. However, I only took one semester of physics during my undergrad and I graduated already. In order to fulfill the requirements for American Med Schools I need one more semester of physics. Has anyone taken Physics in the summer and can make me recommendations of which school they took it at and how I would go about taking a course after I already graduated (would I register for undergrad again or continuing studies)? Thanks in advance!

I was just wondering how UWO calculates my grade percentage. My 2 best years are: year 3 : 84% year 4 : 93% do they take both those numbers and divide it by 2? Or do they average all 20 courses? Thank you!

I have been hearing that all U of M looks at is GPA/MCAT/Casper. I have heard that they don't look at your ECs. Is this true?

Hi, I'm still in high school and I'm looking at which "premed" program to apply to next year that focuses on preparing students for medicine. I know that any program is good as long as you can get a good GPA and high MCAT scores, but are they any specific programs (in Canada) that gear specifically towards premed? Thanks in advance!
