BalkanRelations
Just wondering if from everyone's experience or knowledge of the application review process, whether or not you would recommend using anywhere near the full character limit for descriptions of activities in the supplemental application. I ask because 500 characters is significantly longer than either OMSAS, UBC, or Memorial applications - and they specifically state that "Descriptions of activities should be concise". Eudaimonia
I did not use near that much. Everything I wanted to say was said in 200-300 characters, which you have to do anyways for the other applications. But it's there to use if you need it, if you don't have the time to refine and cut down to be more succinct, or if you really do have that much to say
hwhit
I kept the character count lower (more concise) for the non-medically related activities. I used more characters for the medically related activities so I could provide a little bit more of an explanation
PT2MD
I agree with Eudaimonia. I think there were only 1-2 entries in my application that I used all the characters because they needed explaining. But otherwise most of mine were not even close to the limits. PFT22135
I also didn't use anywhere near the full amount. They specify to be concise so I respected that and used the minimum possible space!
BalkanRelations
Yeah thanks for the feedback guys - that's what I was thinking as well. I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate us adding random fluff and miscellaneous details to to fill get as close to the limit as possible.
MDWilliams
Where does it say the character limit?! I could not find it on the supplemental form.
hopefullyafuturedoc
Similar question...if we have been involved in medical research, do you think it is helpful to explain the projects?
Bambi
Concisely, more important what you learned (in terms of CanMEDS competencies) and perhaps, your contribution.
