Signing up for CMA Membership

Has any incoming first-year medical student signed up for their CMA membership yet? Just wondering if we just do it through the CMA website directly.

I did it through the link that was provided at the Doctors of BC website for UBC

at uAlberta we sign up for AMA (Alberta Medical Association) and CMA simultaneously. The membership year runs from October to September, and the university will be collecting membership dues on AMA/CMA's behalf beginning October 1st. 

I am guessing you have a similar thing set up wherever you're at, so just hang tight, you will be notified by email closer to October.

Not all provinces bundle them - Ontario doesn't - and people are pushing to try to keep them separate in many places. Still some rather annoyed people at the CMA's latest moves ha.

Definitely not happy with CMA’s latest moves. Also think AMA might have stopped the bundling? Not sure what the latest is.

If I go to Ottawa will the school contact us to sign up for OMA and CMA then?

Our 2020 AMA application states the following: "Please note, the AMA membership fee automatically includes CMA membership at no additional cost to you. While we strongly
recommend maintaining membership in both Associations, CMA membership is voluntary."
